James Alexander knew he was going to be a musician from age 8, when he started learning trumpet and recorded himself singing into his cassette deck. After teaching himself to play guitar, keyboard, and write songs at age 13, he started performing semi-professionally at age 14, and performed at weddings and parties while studying his craft at university, until his professional career as a touring and performing musician began in earnest when he was 19.

Twenty years since his gig life began, James has now performed at every major function centre in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, and just about everywhere in between. He's travelled around the world and performed on stage with some of the greats, and, thousands of gigs later, still loves nothing more than grabbing your crowd in the palm of his hand, and leading them into a high-energy dance frenzy for hours.
